3 Month Blogging Income Report as a Beginner in 2024

This last month has been filled with a lot of learning about blogging.

I started this website as a blog in April 2024. I had no idea what I was doing, I still feel that way sometimes.

I am learning every day about expanding this blog as a complete beginner who had never blogged before this year.

I got accepted into Mediavine Journey at the end of May 2024.

I had about 33,000-35,000 sessions per month at that time.

My Stats

Before we get into how much I made in this month, we need to talk about traffic sources to better understand.

My number one traffic source is TikTok which is not ideal but I will take the consistency while I grow other forms of traffic.

I was able to grow so quickly because I have around 95,000 followers on TikTok as of writing this post.

My Pinterest is around 436,000 monthly impressions.

I suspect this will go lower in the summer months with people hopefully being less on their phones and outside enjoying the weather.

My Google traffic has increased significantly with 91,000 impressions and over 2000 clicks in one month.

Those are my main sources of traffic, but I am starting to talk about blogging on my YouTube channel.

Overall, things are growing and I am very happy with these results so far.

Mediavine Journey Income Report

I actually have some affiliate income this month, I am brand new to affiliate marketing.

I have learned a lot this month about it and I am hoping to add affiliate income to more of my blogging income reports in the future.

As I said earlier, I got into Mediavine’s Journey program which is their new ad offering starting at around 10,000 sessions.

Their premium ad network Mediavine starts at 50,000 impressions.

My sessions for the last month have been around 38,000-40,000.

I am struggling to get above this threshold but also I’ve grown this blog by 5,000-8,000 sessions per month since I started.

I feel like that is great because there is still growth even with all of Google’s core updates these past few months.

I want to get into Mediavine this year and I am hoping I can make the push to 50,000 sessions soon.

Let’s get into the income now.

I earned $682.58 USD ($941.96 CAD) in June 2024 from display ads.

This is the first month with Mediavine Journey so the RPMs are all over the place. I think by the end of next month I’ll know better about the true RPMs with this ad network.

In my first two blogging income reports for April 2024 and May 2024, I was only earning income from Google Adsense.

I had very high RPMs with Google Adsense and earned $1600 and $2000 in both of those months.

I also had affiliate income this month so let’s add that as well.

Bluehost: $37.07

Other Affiliates: around $600.

My total income this month was around $1579.03.

These are estimates because I have to convert from USD to CAD and also with some fees but I don’t know the totals for all of these yet.

My Goals

I want to hit 100,000 followers on TikTok this month and 1,000 on YouTube (I am currently at 799).

This may not happen but I am working on spreading my marketing out to different social media streams.

I want to start posting more on YouTube and I am hoping my Pinterest can also grow.

I really hope I can grow the number of sessions on my blog and I am hoping my RPMs grow on Journey too.

I want to increase my affiliate income but I know I still have a lot to learn about that.

I will continue documenting everything for the next few months to see how everything goes.
