Starting a blog has genuinely transformed my life.
This blog came about quite naturally, and I am incredibly thankful for it.
I launched this blog on March 29th, 2024, after initially having a standard website under the same domain, which I registered on February 5th, 2024.
It’s important to clarify that this is not an aged domain.
For the sake of transparency, I want to share my blogging income report for the second month of blogging.
You can read my first month’s income report here.
How I Started
Even with a strong following of nearly 90,000 on TikTok, the world of blogging was completely new to me. Transitioning from creating short, engaging TikTok videos to writing detailed, long-form blog posts was both exciting and challenging.
This required me to learn the ins and outs of SEO and content strategy from scratch. However, I was determined to succeed and aimed to infuse the essence of my popular TikTok content into my blog.
On the topic of SEO, I have been taking courses and absorbing as much knowledge as possible to optimize my SEO and boost my Google traffic.
This was my Google Traffic from February to the end of April.
This is my Google Traffic from March 4th to June 2nd. This is a crazy difference and you can see the spikes of traffic and how much it is growing every day.
My main focus for traffic is now my TikTok where I am averaging about 600K views a week.
Google is another source of traffic I am focusing on and I have had over 600 clicks in the last 30 days. In my opinion, this is great for a brand-new blog. I think my use of RANKIQ and focusing on becoming an expert in my niche has helped with my authority online, despite my few backlinks and domain authority.
Lastly, I really upped my Pinterest game in May 2024. I knew that Pinterest would eventually become a great place to gain traffic and it is slowly gaining momentum.
As I continue to grow my online presence, I’ve realized the incredible potential of Pinterest. Unlike other social media platforms, Pinterest offers a unique way to drive traffic and engage with a broader audience through visually appealing content.
I started this Pinterest account in March but didn’t start posting on it consistently until the end of April. These are my one-month results.
I am so happy with Pinterest, I have developed a strategy that I am excited to keep going with considering it got me over 100k views in just one month.
Everyone knows that Pinterest is more of a search engine than a social media platform and that’s why it is so great for evergreen content.
I see Pinterest as an opportunity to extend the reach of my blog posts, bringing in new readers who are genuinely interested in the topics I cover.
Additionally, I’ve been diving into Pinterest’s analytics and tools, which are designed to help creators like me optimize our content. By leveraging these tools, I aim to create pins that not only catch the eye but also drive meaningful engagement and traffic back to my blog.
I am excited to keep going and see how much I can grow!
Types of Monetization for a Blog
There are so many ways to monetize your blog. My focus is display ads for now because I am just so new to it all.
There are so many ways but for now my focus is definitely just on display ads and the occasional affiliate link.
Google Adsense
This income report is based on what I made on Google Adsense from May 1 – May 28th because on May 28th, I actually got into Mediavine’s new program called Journey.
This was my main goal and I am so excited that I got into it so soon. A four-month-old domain (which I believe is the minimum) and 2 months of working on this blog and I got in.
For reference, I have around 37,000 sessions and 74,000 page views which is why I think I got accepted so quickly.
What I made
In my first month of blogging, my first blogging income report I made $1668.36 with display ads through Google Adsense.
In my second month of running this blog, I hit $2110.89 in 28 days. Not bad if I do say so myself.
I did genuinely like using Google Adsense however my only issues were that it slowed my site down and even on the lowest setting of ads, there were still too many and they were not integrated as well in my opinion.
However, I am grateful that I could make some passive income while developing this blog.
My Goals for Next Month
My goal for next month is to get my RPMs up with Journey because with Google Adsense my RPMs were around $50-$60 which is insane.
My goal is also to utilize Pinterest more for outbound clicks and post 2-3 times a day.
Overall, I am so happy with everything and I hope I can continue this!
