This blog post is about the TikTok recipes that took over everyone’s For You Page.
If you’ve spent any time on FoodTok, you know a single video can turn a random pantry combo into a dinnertime staple overnight. We rounded up 17 of the recipes that genuinely earned their viral status, from the feta pasta that broke grocery store shelves to the salmon rice bowl everyone still makes at 11pm.
Each one links straight to the original (or one of the earliest, most-credited) TikTok videos, so you can watch exactly how it’s done before you try it yourself.
1. Baked Feta Pasta
The recipe that basically started the modern TikTok food era. A Finnish creator’s #uunifetapasta video sent feta cheese flying off shelves worldwide: bake a block of feta with cherry tomatoes, olive oil and garlic, smash it into a sauce, and toss with pasta. Four ingredients, one pan, a thousand copycats.
2. Tini’s Mac and Cheese
Tineke Younger’s holiday mac and cheese has become an annual tradition on TikTok, complete with its own countdown. A custom cheese blend, a silky roux and a baked-then-broiled top make this the mac people specifically request by name.
3. Emily Mariko’s Salmon Rice Bowl
Leftover rice and salmon, microwaved under an ice cube (yes, really, it steams the rice back to fresh), then topped with soy sauce, Kewpie mayo and everything seasoning. It’s become one of the most-recreated recipes in TikTok history and it’s basically the ultimate work-from-home lunch.
4. Justine’s Butter Board
Justine Doiron single-handedly made “board” a food category. Softened butter swirled across a platter, drizzled with honey or chili oil, topped with herbs and flaky salt, and served with crusty bread for scooping. It’s an appetizer and a centerpiece at once.
5. Nature’s Cereal
Blueberries, pomegranate seeds and coconut water in a bowl, eaten like cereal. It kicked off the whole “nature’s [insert food]” trend and remains one of the simplest healthy TikTok breakfasts to actually stick with.
6. Dalgona Whipped Coffee
Instant coffee, sugar and hot water whipped into a cloud-like foam and spooned over milk and ice. It defined food TikTok’s early days and it’s still the easiest way to make your coffee corner look like a cafe.
7. Viral Cottage Cheese Flatbread
Blended cottage cheese, eggs, parmesan and Italian seasoning baked into a sturdy, protein-packed flatbread. It’s the high-protein trend that actually delivers on flavor, and it’s a great low-effort lunch base for sandwiches or wraps.
8. Green Goddess Chopped Salad
A finely chopped, herby, creamy-dressed salad credited to Baked by Melissa that basically reinvented what a “salad TikTok” video could be. Countless creators have made their own version since, but this is where the trend took off.
9. Sheet Pan Crunchwrap Supreme
A homemade, family-size take on the fast food classic, layered with seasoned beef, queso, sour cream and a crunchy tostada, then folded and toasted. It’s the copycat recipe that keeps reappearing on FoodTok every few months.
10. Cloud Bread
Whipped egg whites, cornstarch and a little food coloring baked into pillowy, rainbow-colored “clouds.” It’s more of a texture experience than a meal, but it’s one of the most visually satisfying trends TikTok has produced.
11. Corn Ribs
Corn on the cob, sliced lengthwise into quarters so it curls like a rib when roasted or grilled, then seasoned and served with a spicy dip. It’s a genuinely clever way to eat corn that earned its viral moment.
12. Grinder Salad Sandwich
A tangy, oregano-heavy shredded lettuce salad piled onto a toasted Italian sub with deli meats and provolone. It out-flavors a regular sandwich by a mile and it’s become a go-to easy work lunch for a reason.
13. Marry Me Chicken
Seared chicken breasts simmered in a creamy sun-dried tomato and parmesan sauce. The name says it all: it’s the weeknight dinner that’s supposedly convincing enough to earn a proposal. Low-carb and ready in about 30 minutes.
14. Pasta Chips
Boiled bowtie pasta, tossed in oil and parmesan, then baked or air-fried until crispy and dunked in marinara. It’s essentially a snack-ified lasagna and it converted a lot of people who thought they’d tried every pasta trend already.
15. Birria Tacos
Slow-braised, chile-spiced beef, shredded and folded into tortillas dipped in the braising fat, then griddled until crisp and served with a side of consomé for dipping. This is the recipe that made “quesabirria” a household word.
16. Smash Burger Tacos
Seasoned beef smashed directly onto a tortilla in a hot pan, flipped to crisp both sides, then topped with cheese, burger sauce and all your favorite toppings. All the flavor of a smash burger with none of the bun.
17. Upside-Down Cast Iron Pizza
Cheese goes into the hot cast iron skillet first for a lacy, crispy edge, then sauce and toppings go on top of the dough before it’s flipped out onto a plate, sauce-side up. It’s a genuinely different way to make pizza at home and it delivers real pizzeria-style crunch.
A Note on Trying These
TikTok recipes move fast, and the same dish often gets remade by dozens of creators before “the original” gets credited properly. We’ve linked to the earliest or most widely-credited video we could confirm for each recipe above, but if you know of an earlier source for any of these, let us know in the comments!
